Liwenantu / Rafiki's Baptism

What a beautiful day! It began with a Liwenantu, Mapuche ceremony in which, at sunrise, you present the new member to your ancestors, which was the most emotional moment I have lived in a long time. Then a catholic baptism, also very beautiful, where there were only friends and family filling with love with their presence and wonderful words. Rafael now has 3 beautiful godmothers who will take care of him with love forever. I think the best way to describe these ceremonies is: intimate. Everything was felt with the care and strength with which you protect your own, your tribe, your home. Thank you so much for trusting and allowing me to document that intimacy.
